Mozambicans have been using Pilaus (large pestle and mortars) and wooden barrels (for brewing beer, storing water and grains) for hundreds of years, however they now prefer to use plastic barrels instead of the traditional wooden ones due to their weight and ease of transport.

Machilla Magic only sources reclaimed barrels (which are now becoming quite rare) for its collection.

Both barrels and pilaus are made from local hardwoods;

Products created from barrels and piluas can be found under interior and exterior decor.
